Little is known of Samuel Storch other than his family consisting of wife and 4 children arrived in New York City in 1891 [1] , so presumably he arrived earlier. I just discovered 2 weeks ago, that his name appears 2 years later, along with wife's maiden + married names, on 1893 Manhattan birth certificate for an American-born child [2], unknown to later family descendants.
His name also appears on the 1905 marriage certificates of his sons Herman [3] and Henry [4], along with wife's maiden + married names.
No trace of any family member has been found in the 1900 US census; by the 1905 NY census [5], his wife Sime is listed as widowed, and there is no entry for the American-born child [2], who would have been age 12 then.
Samuel was born in Austria according to all available US and NY census listings of his children.

No trace of Samuel has been found in NY death certificates, city directories, or police census.
